If the sugar scrub in with the broken glass is relatively dry, a vacuum cleaner is safe to use, although you'd want to ditch the vacuum bag right away rather than leave it with glass in it. But if the contents of the glass were gooey, a damp paper towel should pick up the tiny bits of glass as well as the mess.

Was the sugar scrub working out ok? I'm kinda in suspense now!

It was such a cf that I barely knew what to do! I was a soaking-wet, barefooted, panicking mess. Luckily, I have no paper towels and our vacuum cleaner (no bags, bought at a yard sale) was tucked away in Guam in the basement...we don't have any area rugs yet so I never use it.

So far, the sugar scrub is winning. It doesn't have all the greasy oils and honey like the other one does, which my skin does not need.

However, the store-bought brand has a smell that makes me drool. And works like a dream as a pre-and-post shaving exfoliator.

Expect more results next week!

Eep! Well, at least you got through it well enough to post! Next time you have a sticky-glass accident you'll be prepared :)

My own scrub is super-oily, so I've been looking to switch for a while.

I hate oily scrubs! Some recipes I've seen for DIY sugar scrubs include honey or almond oil, but I mostly want to scrape off the crud, not add more.

Just curious - what kind of scrub are you using now?
